"Delicious Jamaican oxtails. My jerk chicken was packaged just right with oxtail gravy on my rice. Golden Krust on Lyons Ave. is the good one. I tried other Golden Krust and they suck in comparison to the on on Lyons Ave., they need to actually help out the other food chains. Lyons Ave. try the brown stew chicken and Escovitch fish when they have it good as well."
"Now this is my second day in a row ordering the oxtails and I must say Im not disappointed at all !!!!! The amount , the taste, very consistent with flavor!!! OMG!!!! Definitely my favorite meal!!!! Thank you GOLDEN CRUST for serving me and satisfying my taste buds! "

"The taste is AMAZING so incredible delicious sweet and savory flavor you tell it was made fresh every time! I ordered this twice in a row because my kids begged me! Can't wait to order it again! The oxtail Irie Fries and the Macaroni Au Gratin are worth every penny!"
"Jerkies Indie's Jerk Chicken Fries deliver an unforgettable fusion of bold Caribbean spices and crispy comfort food. The jerk chicken is perfectly seasoned, smoky, and tender, offering just the right amount of heat. Paired with golden, crispy fries, the dish creates a satisfying balance of texture and flavor.
A drizzle of creamy sauce enhances the richness, adding a cool contrast to the spice, while fresh herbs or cheese elevate each bite. The portion size is generous, making it great for sharing—though it’s so delicious, you might want it all to yourself!
Whether you’re a fan of jerk chicken or just love loaded fries, this dish is a must-try. It’s a perfect blend of spice, crunch, and indulgence, guaranteed to leave you craving more."

"Most West Indian restaurants are stingy with their oxtails. This restaurant is looking to satisfy their customer and keep them coming back! They make sure you get a portion that's worth the price and it's always hot and delicious!! I highly recommend."
"Always delicious. So much so I had to call the restaurant and thank them! People are so quick to complain when they are not happy. But rarely give praise when it's due. Thank you Yaad Pot!!

"I definitely want to give "my new spot" a special shout out. I had the privilege of eating at this great restaurant. In order to see how good the food taste, I order a few different meals. I first ordered a steam Snapper meal with provisions instead of rice and beans, to see how they were going to customize my meal. Next, I ordered a breakfast meal in the late afternoon. The dish was Ackee and Saltfiah with provisions. Lastly I ordered a chicken soup to see how they were going to make it. I must admit, this restaurant went up and beyond my expectations, with the presentation, taste, and customer service. The servings were so plentiful, I shared it with my wife, who almost fought me to get the food after she tasted it, LOL. Although they didn't have the cooked banana that I requested at the time, that doesn't take anything away from them. I recommend this restaurant if you want good authentic tasting Jamaican/Caribbean food. I would know... with family in Jamaica! 👍🏿"
"Oxtail roti was certainly on point! Flavorful , tender and a generous portion of oxtail stew, enough for 2. The stewed cabbage was a little al dente for my taste and will cook them more."

"The platters were sooo good and seasoned to perfection!!! Nice portons. The Stewed chicken special and the Curried Chicken Roti the flavor is on point, hands down 5 stars in regard to flavor. The only negative issue (but not so negative) I would have to say wouldbe that I would have preferred chicken pieces in the roti to not have the bones, lol. I was enjoying it so much when I went to bite down, I bit into a large bone. So had to remove the bones. Overall, hands down a must try. I will be ordering again. They were sold out of the Pound Cake but did offer me a coconut as replacement. The coconut cake is pretty good also."
"This was my first time ordering from Island Spot and to be honest I was scared. It's the fourth Caribbean restaurant I've tried and I was worried because of past experiences.
The way the carefully wapped the food was impressive. I have not seen that. The mixed steamed veggies were not soggy but crunchy and flavorful. The Medium Curried Chicken was a nice portionfor the price and very good. The rice and peas was fresh and wasn't dry or soggy, just right.
Although they delivered quicker than the estimated 30 mins, the food was a bit cold. I was also unable to choose between white rice or rice and peas, which I found odd. "

"This place is as beautiful and the food is amazing! The chicken was so juicy and tasty. Plantains were fresh, perfectly salted, and crisp. I wish the rasta pasta was a little less dry. Overall, amazing and pretty plating, I didn't even wanted to ruin the presentation. "
"The Jerk Chicken had great flavor and a nice smoky char, but it was on the dry side, and chopping it up left a lot of small, tough, bony pieces. If it weren't for how many bony pieces I received, I'd say this was a good portion for the price.
The rice and peas was a real letdown. It tasted completely unseasoned, and I unfortunately got stuck with clumps from the bottom of the pot that were dry, mushy, and devoid of any coconut or herbal flavor. The house jerk sauce had a decent tang and helped rescue the dry chicken, but overall, it missed the mark.
Would I order again? Maybe, but there are better places for jerk chicken so not anytime soon"

"Food was great! All of the food came fresh. There was plenty of jerk sauce on the chicken and large portions. The Macaroni and Cheese was good but lacked some flavor and was partly dry. The Jerk Chicken itself made it all great. I would definitely recommend this place "
"The brown stew chicken was dry and bland and there was a platter full of rice and 3 small pieces of chicken mostly bone.
The jerk chicken orders both were wrong because they had bbq sauce on both orders and I have a child with sensory sensitivity so they can't eat sauce. The bbq sauce was all over the salad, rice, and chicken. The issue is I requested no sauce and it's an option that was provided to not have sauce."

"They're usually excellent with their orders. For some reason their Oxtail Beef tasted like jerk seasoning which is unusual AND on top of it I ordered a large and was literally given only tiny small oxtail with fat. No large sizes of oxtail and the value was nothing compared to the last time I ordered. Not pleased this time. I sure hope I don't have this issue in the future."

"The curry goat roti for $24.49 was not worth the price!! The meal was with only 4 small pieces of meat that had a lot of chipped bones in the gravy, plus there was a lot of potatoes that I didn't care for. It also came with a small scoop of pumpkin and channa.. considering how inexpensive pumpkin and channa is the serving size could have been better. Definitely a 2 out of 10 rating!!!"

"Amazing the OXTAILS was cooked to perfection ! Not hard falling off the bone ! Great value ! This will be my new spot they gave enough oxtails between 8-9 pieces which is great ! "
"I have always liked the taste of their food better than any other Jamaican restaurant I've tried in my area:. Only issue is that most times I order, I am missing food. They run out after I've ordered and they just scratch that off the order and deliver the rest. I am not aware of the deletion until the food arrives. Very disappointing! Same thing today, but in addition I ordered a large and there was not very much food in the container."

"Tasty & still hot on arrival. Great portion size for the price, the rice & beans are also delicious. Maduros / Fried Sweet Plantains are great & don't taste like they're fried in old oil. Same for the Tostones / Fried Green Plantains. I also ordered a large container of their mojo sauce bc it's delish. Everything has been great, I ordered the Pernil Asado twice now, both times great."
"Once again ON POINT!!!! Great service, I put in a request to have the Pernil Asado with white rice instead of yellow and they actually did it without any issues. This Burrito Bowl w Beef is 💣 💣 💣. Deff my go to spot for homemade type food cuz my house throws down in the kitchen and MANY places in Jersey suck"

"The Pernil Family Meal + Large Rice & Beans + Side was an Amazing choice. The meat taste was soo flavorful and tender. The rice was cooked perfect and the beans were seasoned as deliciously. The portion was good, I would have liked a larger amount of bean but overall , LOVED IT!"
"I was excited to try Meson Tropical, but this order was disappointing. The food was packaged in foil trays and did not travel well, which affected the presentation and overall dining experience.
The biggest issue was the quality of the meats. The fried pork belly was extremely overcooked, dry, and tough to chew, and the meat in the mini Meson bowl was similarly overdone. Rather than tasting fresh and juicy, the meats seemed as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for an extended period. More importantly, the dishes lacked the bold seasoning and authentic Latin flavors I expected from a Puerto Rican/Dominican restaurant. The food was bland and did not have the homemade Caribbean taste that makes this cuisine special.
The Spring Meson Chicken Salad and Cod Fish were also underseasoned and uninspiring. The alcapurria was terrible—dry, flavorless, and nothing like a freshly made alcapurria should taste. The Passionfruit Mango Madness drink was forgettable and did not stand out. The stuffed potato ball was the only item I genuinely enjoyed.
Overall, the meal lacked consistency and flavor. I was expecting fresh, well-seasoned dishes that reflected the rich and vibrant tastes of Latin cuisine, but unfortunately this experience missed the mark. I hope improvements are made because the menu has a lot of potential."

"As a Jacan, Trinis make the best roti period. Glad this restaurant came across my feed. Best roti in this side of town."
"I was so excited to see a TT cafe nearby I just had to try it.
Staring with the Doubles , the pepper had a very spiced mustardy taste, which I loved. I hate when something is just hot for nothing, it was both hot and flavorful. The barra was a little bigger than I'm used to but as a result one was enough. Very pleasant, 8/10.
The bake and Saltfish stole the show honestly. It was still so very hot when it arrived, the bake was quite fresh as well as the saltfish. Pleasantly seasoned. This is going to be my go to. 11/10 please don't ever change this!
The Buss Up was nice, standard. I loved it. Going to go great with my meal tonight.
Lastly the Aloo Pie could've been better. I would've liked to try it without the extra sauces, as the flavors overwhelmed the pie.
I wish the Currant Rolls were in stock, I crave them so bad. Next time though, as I'll surely be ordering again. Thank you to the staff!"

"Philly Cheese Steak very salty. taste like a salt and pepper sandwich.

"giving 5 stars basically cuz the Whiting (4 pcs) was truly on point.. used to live in the BX and the fish spot was amazing and coming out here to Jersey we've been searching for a spot with great fried Whiting and we've found it 💯
the Wings and Fries was really good but I thought the wings were gonna be fried like from the Chinese spot but these were with flour/dredge.. they were tasty but also there were only 3 when this special says there's supposed to be 4. [real rating would be like 4.5 but can't do halves here"
"The food here is really good. I've ordered from them many times and it's consistently good. The catfish is my favorite, but the Oxtail pasta is also excellent. And the green beans are fantastic. Portion sizes are generous."

"Not gonna lie, I forgot to take pics before eating and I started demolishing it immediately. The Mofongo is SO good, it's a good sized portion, not too small like some places give. It's also seasoned very well unlike other places that give you bland ones. The steak was very good, the Alcapurria de guineo is as close to what my mom's is as I can find, so it's amazing. The star of the show was definitely the Pastelillo de Guava (Guava Empanada) because I'm Cuban and that's what I was raised on and they do it well! My husband is raving over his food, the masitas de puerco (carne Carne Frita) are soooo good he says. I would absolutely order here again, in fact my husband says he's ordering it on his cheat day next week 🤣"

"I'm here from a different state , whenever I go to another state. I always make it my business to taste Haitian food. Magela's your tomtom gumbo is delicious, very flavorful, 10/10 . Next time I'm in town, I will definitely buy it again. The goat meat are way too big for me and I did not get any pikliz which makes it hard for me to eat the goat because it's not spicy. The same for the pig ears. The plantain is not fried to perfection. They are big and not crispy but tasty. If you had sent me one little pikliz my taste buds would have been happier. I will definitely recommend Magela's to my friends and families. By the way I saw that the pikliz was $2+ but I thought that was for extra, I don't know any Haitian restaurant that serves food without pikliz. I will make sure to add pikliz next time. The Akra was not too flavorful but eatable."
"Been craving Haitian food for a while, and I’m so glad I found this spot in East Orange, NJ. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous, more than enough and the prices are very reasonable. This was my second order, and it’s officially my go-to spot whenever I’m in town."
