"The sampler breakfast was so good. The bacon and sausage links were top quality and well cooked as were the eggs. Every possible condiment was included and the coffee was hot.
My family and I used to eat at IHOP all he time and for decades, we ordered the build your own omelette wth cheese and salsa. Then that salsa went away and we stopped going. If anyone else out there misses that breakfast, Target has a Good and Gather medium chunky salsa that is spot on. I had it on my cheddar scrambled eggs this morning and it was like the good old days at IHOP.

"If pastries are your thing, La Madeleine genuinely delivers. Their Nutella muffins are sooo tasty and some of the most consistently good baked goods I’ve found. The flavor is almost always there--I’ve only ever had one pastry box of them that was off. The croissant dough is really solid too, and so naturally the ham and cheese croissant shows that off well. I’ve also gotten the tarte au citron for my partner, who is a serious lemon lover, and it’s been a hit every time.
But outside of the pastry case, I’ve been disappointed more times than I can excuse at this point. I’ve tried the Croque Monsieur with the broccoli cheddar and country potato soups, and the lemonade, none of which really impressed me. I also ordered a frosted sugar cookie that came with none at all (listing even noted that frosting color varies by location, so clearly it’s supposed to come frosted).
I keep giving it another shot hoping something will surprise me, but at this point I think their strength is very clearly in the baked goods. The Fruit Tart is a perfect balance of a buttery pastry crust, ripe sweet and tart fruits, fresh cream, and citrus acidity. These were so light, I inhaled 2. "The shrimp salad in the New England Shrimp Roll was warm and only a moderate portion on a small roll. It should have been chilled, especially as it contained mayonnaise. Also, the very thin tip-end of the shrimp, which is crusty, had been left on. This caused an unpleasant crispy sensation when chewing. Otherwise, the shrimp salad filling was well prepared with good flavor. The fries were very, very good.
The burrata in the Fig & Persimmon Burrata Salad was not fresh (very, very dry), and plain burrata instead of truffled burrata would work better with the other flavors in the salad. The burrata was the size of a Mandarin orange. The figs were overripe to the point of being mushy and having a slightly fermented taste.
I might order the New England Shrimp Roll again but not the Fig & Persimmon Burrata Salad."
