"I've had Chicken Tikka Masala with onions in it before but this one was unique with green peppers and tomatoes as well. Mango Lassi had the perfect consistency and wasn't overly sweet. The Garlic Naan was slightly crispy. Everything was delicious! Ate half and had the rest the next day."
"Butter Chicken was good but I've had better, this tasted mass produced not very fresh the Garlic Naan was VERY garlicky but the Plain Rice seemed fresh. This order fed 2 grown adults with extra left over. I'd order again if other places were closed but it won't be my first choice for Indian food."

"Yes, the butter chicken is on the spicy side...which I like. It was excellent. Best garlic naan I've ever had and the Julab Jamun is very good as well. Sweet and light."
"Our food was pretty delicious, but we were disappointed in the amount of chicken included in the butter chicken and also the amount of paneer in the paneer masala. It was mostly just sauce in both, and it doesn't seem like a good value for $15+ each. The biryani and the paneer 555 were both delicious and a better value than the other entrees. "

"I ordered the Maharani Dinner (Vegetarian for 2) and it was...DYNAMITE!! I am a lover of Middle Eastern cuisine, most especially Indian, and I'm very familiar with Indian food and India Star is probably the best I have ever had. The Malai Kofta was creamy and sublime. This is my very favorite dish and India Star's version is the best ever, and I've eaten Malai Kofta from at least 7 states, close to 3 dozen Indian restaurants, still Indian Star beats them all The vegetable torpedoes (that's what my crew call them) still had a subtle but still detectable crispness to the outside and the firm, delicious center was the perfect texture and explodes with savory flavor. The fragrant sauce has a cheesy, nutty flavor that is hearty and indulgent. the pakora and samosa appetizers, lentil soup, naan, really everything was delicious and gets 11 out of 10 stars. Ok, confession time. I ordered dinner for 2 yet I was the only one eating! I'm not sorry, India Star has been my goto for 30+ years!"
"First time ordering Indian food and this is SO good. Super good portions too i defI did mhave leftovers. M edium heat on the Chicken Makhani and it has a good nice heat to it. The hot option for sure would've been super spicy. Garlic Naan was super good and a good garlic flavor "

"The naan was extremely small compared to what you get from other local indian restaurants for similar price and the raita was watery. All the other food tasted great though. "
"DELICIOUSSS!!!!!! i'd reorder from this restaurant 1000x for the Mango Masthani alone. the packaging is very attractive and secure, and the portion of the Lamb Biryani was way more plentiful than i expected. don't underestimate the spiciness of the Lamb Biryani, but it's still quite flavorful and not too dry."

"This is the best Indian food in town. Not only is the food made fresh and with love, the customer service is exceptional. I placed a catering order for my company event recently and not only the owner gave a great pricing, they offered to set it up for free. Awesome family owned business. This is my goto spot for great fresh food."
"food came nicely and warm. However, quantity/portion has gone down since they first opened. flavour wasn't truly there for the food. Overall was a disappointed meal.
Goat Curry was very small for such a price. Asked to get extra spicy. Doesn't seem to be any different.
Paneer Tikka was extremely dry. The Paneer was like rubber. Non sponginess that you get from typical paneer. They were burnt. Green pepper weren't. very small portion for such price point.
Mango Lassi was good as always.
Naan was a mess. some burnt worse than other. about 50% of the 2 naans were just crunchy like crackers... what!!!
Tandoori Roti was moist and good."

"The Butter Chicken is my favorite item on the menu. I've tried other Indian restaurants in Des Moines, and flavor wise, this is the best butter chicken in my opinion. I do wish they added a bit more chicken pieces, or offered the option to add more chicken for an extra fee. The Naan bread is the fluffiest! The mango lassi was delicious. I do recommend this restaurant."

"First time trying this place and theTikka Boti was really flavorful and came woth a good portion of chicken, a little salad, and some rice. This was some of the best Chicken Tikka Masala I've had in Des Moines. Everything would've been perfect except unfortunately I found a few small chicken bones in the Tikka Masala. "Fourth time ordering the Goat Pulav, and once again — they did not disappoint! The flavors are consistently on point. The rice is fragrant and perfectly seasoned, and the goat is cooked to tender perfection, rich with authentic spices in every bite. "I ordered the chicken curry medium heat and it was PERFECT. Tender pieces of chicken, the flavor was amazing and just the right amount of heat. The portion was very large also so well worth the price. The veggie samosa's arrived crisp and warm, so good! Would definitely recommend! "
"All of our food was delicious. We tried the Methi Lamb (Served with Basmati rice ) for the first time and the sauce, lamb, and fenugreek leaves are an amazing combo! The Malai Kofta (Served with Basmati rice ) is one of my favorite dishes from them. We tried breads which we have had one somewhere else but the Paneer Kulcha was brand new. Both the Paneer Kulcha and Aloo Paratha (2 Pieces) were super thick, still very warm and the cheese was still melty, and absolutely delicious. The breads are very filling though and honestly could be a meal on their own. Overall we loved all the food we ordered and when we order again it will probably include at least two of the items regularly."

"this Panda Express in particular stepped up their food packing game! our food was packed in such a manner I have never seen before from other Panda Express restaurants as well as other merchants selling on doordash. I have to say this last experience was one of the best experiences I've had with Panda Express and doordash delivery"
"I go to Panda Express all the time. It's genuinely my favorite go to fast food. Unfortunately, I'll be sticking to driving there. The plate I got would be $9.30 driving through, but on here it is $12.40. A ridiculous 30% increase simply because it's online. I paid nearly $20 and I only got the plate. And that is with a promotion going on where the delivery fee was only a few cents. The food itself was a bit crunchier than usual and the rice tasted old. Super Greens were a little under-seasoned. Still, it's panda express so I enjoyed it. But for the first time... ever- I think, it didn't fill me up. I noticed the smaller portion but didn't think much of it. But now I'm unsatisfied with 20 less dollars in my account."

They always pack the containers full, I am totally satisfied with the portion size and it is only $15 after a driver tip. Fair price, excellent food, highly recommend!!"
"Food was very good. But $11 for a 5 piece roll (birthday roll) and $8 for 2 pieces of spring rolls is criminal. If you're going to order from here I would stay away from the apps and the special sushi rolls - you get very little for a lot of money compared to other nearby places. "Loved the flavor. There should be more meat, there was only 5 bite size beef pieces, And I was charged extra for beef. Otherwise I did order a lunch portion but was still very large! 4 stars only because of meat amount."
"Peanut noodles medium spice. Sauce on top of noodles that was not enough to coat all the noodles when mixed. I selected
Tofu for the protein and there were 5 pieces. Only a few veggies. So, essentially it was a bland bowl of plain noodles with a little heat (spice) to it. Overly priced for what was received. I rarely give poor reviews. I'm giving it 3 starts because it was hot and freshly made and restaurants cannot always be perfect . Hopefully, this review is noted and improve upon this dish for other customers."

I am happy to welcome them to the fall menu once again. The portion size could be a bit larger for price, but I would still order again."

"This place will wow you! The flavor, portions and price were all perfect. The General Tsao's Chicken is not as sweet and syrupy as you get at other places. It's also fried hard. Both of those were pluses for me. Most people can probably tolerate a 3 spice level. I prefer the 4. Every element of the Combination Fried Rice was well prepared. The beef was not that gray chewy stuff you get other places. It was beautifully seared and flavorful. The shrimp were larger than average and not overcooked. They were well seasoned too. Do yourself a favor and try this place."
"Best Chinese food in the metro! Was devastated when Shang Yuen switched ownership but so happy the family recipes live on through Heavenly! The beef is so tender! The chicken so crispy! The rice so fluffy! Deep, well balanced flavors. Everything we've had has been so delicious and we have high standards for Asian food being an Asian household.
Food ALWAYS arrives hot and fresh and well packaged! Cannot recommend enough!"

"Steak is DRY over cooked and extremely tough. The kids chicken is also extremely dry and there was no sauce included for the rice. Overall disappointing. Also 3 very small squares of fried cheesecake is a waste of $6 not even a full slice.
Got this for myself for my bday lunch and should've just gotten subway. "

"This BBQ is top notch. If you like moist brisket THIS IS THE PLACE. Consistently excellent brisket is one of the hardest challenges for a BBQ restaurant. The jalapeño cheddar sausage is outstanding as well. The pork is very good, but pulled pork is an easier meat to find done right. The price is more expensive than fast food(really not that much any more), but an excellent dinner option when you want real quality. The beans and coleslaw are wonderful side choices. The cornbread is a little crumbly for my taste, but authentic to their style."

"sooo good as always, big portions, so a bang for your buck :)"
"I always get the Lunch Grill Meal but this was the first time ordering it through DoorDash. I first have way more noodles than I asked for and there is hardly any meat and veggies in it as well upon which I asked for. With the amount of sauce you allow a person to get and I use the total limit and it still shows up bland and tasteless, you should think about updating the way others can order their food to be delivered so it's not a big waste of time and money."

"The staff has always been friendly and understanding. The restaurant is clean with a good atmosphere. Highly recommended.
My favorite dishes are the Yellow Curry/Rice and Red Curry/Rice . The Thai Ice Tea has always been amazing and is a nice treat with the other dishes."
"This was my first time trying this restaurant this evening. I moved to the South Side this spring and didn't feel like going out west for dinner.
The Pad Thai was very, very filling and delicious. The fried rice came in a huge serving. I wish it was just a pinch less salty but it truly was the best I've had from a Thai restaurant.
Decided to pick it up myself & got it in 20 minutes after ordering on a Friday. Definitely will be coming back!"

"I was sad when our favorite Mexican restaurant on the north side closed. But I am so glad I found Hernandez's. I order door dash lunch from here at least once a week. I have never been disappointed. The food is flavorful and has a nice sized portion for the lunch menu. The packaging is always perfect and it includes chips and salsa and plastic ware. Most importantly, my meal has always been prepared correctly - even with my goofy modifications. Hernandez's for the WIN!"

"my first visit to this restaurant and I was flabbergasted! it was great for the price! Taste was wonderful... I have to say best egg roll ever!"
"Food quality? Mediocre. Ordered two bowl combos, one sesame, one orange. When we went to grab our food, we realized that both bowls were the exact same, and we couldn't tell what the sauce tasted like. Zero sesame seeds, and not a hint of any orange flavoring.
As for the portion sizes, if you're going to charge out the wazoo for your food, at least give people enough food to make sure they're full.
The Bao was probably the best part of the entire meal, and I'm fairly certain they come frozen.
Don't waste your money, get literally anything else besides this place."
